All three Do It Yourself models include simple to follow step by step instructions with clear scaled drawings and a materials cut sheet. To build your Murphy Wall Bed cabinetry, you will need to use 3/4" x 4' x 8' sheets of furniture grade plywood. Plywood is one of the most preferred and versatile woodworking materials available in home hardware outlets today. Plywood is manufactured wood made from thin layers of wood. The thin layers of wood are glued and pressed together so that adjacent plies have their wood grain at right angles to each other for greater strength. There are many veneer surfaces available for plywood, i.e. maple, oak, cherry, etc. Select the right furniture stain/finish to create a piece of furniture that is complimentary to your surrounding.

CBS Sunday Morning recently featured a story on the murphy bed, exploring its history and creation, and highlighting current uses of the murphy bed or walled.

Murphy beds are once again hip, featured in such places as The Westin, St. Francis in San Francisco, apartments and high end homes.
